The British researchers have come to conclusion, that the brain sick of a psoriasis is less, than at other people, is sensitive to disgust expression on persons of associates. It serves as such sick original protective mechanism, helping to cope with an uncooperative altitude of people to external implications of disease, informs MedPage Today.

In research of scientists from University of Manchester have taken part 13 men sick of a psoriasis, and the same number of healthy men of comparable age for the control. To volunteers have suggested to see photos of people with the person neutral and expressing disgust. During viewing researchers studied activation of various areas of a brain of volunteers by means of functional MRI.
For definition of ability of participants of experiment to distinguish emotions, them asked to estimate orally disgust degree on the person of the represented people.

At sick the psoriasis during viewing of photos observed considerably smaller in comparison with control group activation of an insular cortex - a site of the brain responsible for formation and perception of feeling of disgust. It testifies to their more weak sensitivity to similar implications from associates.

According to the principal of research Christopher Giffitsa (Christopher Griffiths), the lowered reaction of an insular cortex provides with a sick psoriasis the best adaptation in society.
