Researchers managed to find out one-alphabetic change on the fifth chromosome near a gene Semaphorin 5А which supervises growth of neurones and axons (processes of neurones on which there are nervous impulses).
At the people sick of an autism, activity of this gene is frequently lowered. Possible communication between an autism and parts of 6th and 20th chromosomes has been besides, taped.

According to authors of work, their opening help to throw light on biology of an autism and to allocate areas it is necessary for them to give a priority in the further researches of illness.
The autism is the disorder arising owing to disturbance of development of a brain and characterised by deviations in social interaction and dialogue, and also the limited, repeating behaviour. All specified signs appear aged till three years. The autism leads to development of the whole spectrum of disturbances of the various severity level affecting speech, social behaviour and physical development.
