Mechanism and Usage
Tamiflu is an antiviral flu medicine, blocking reproduction of the flu virus and stopping it from spreading inside the body. It is effective within two days of experiencing symptoms. Tamiflu can also be used in patients who have been exposed to the flu without symptoms. The medicine does not treat the cold but can be used for other purposes that are not mentioned here.

Dosage and Taking
In case the flu symptoms (chill, sore throat, fever, muscle aches, running or stuffy nose) start taking Tamiflu as soon as possible.
Keep to the recommendations of your physician. Do not overdose and do not prolong the treatment without your doctor's prescription. When dealing with suspension (liquid), shake it well before dosage and use the syringe enclosed, not a spoon. Ask your pharmacist for a syringe or for another special measuring device if you do not have one.

Taking a full glass of water with your medicine is recommended. Patients with stomach disorders can take it with food or milk.

Take Tamiflu pills every 12 hours for 5 days if you treat flu.
Take Tamiflu pills every 24 hours for 10 days or keep to the recommendations of a healthcare professional for preventing flu.

Skipped Dose
In case you failed to take Tamiflu, do it as soon as you will be able to. If it is less that 2 hours before the next dose, just forget it and keep to your regular scheme. Double dose is not recommended.

Storage
Room temperature is recommended for storing the medicine. Protect Tamiflu from humidity and high temperatures. Store it away from children and pets. Store the liquid in a fridge without freezing, not longer than 10 days.
